Out with the old, in with the new!

The way I used to style my makeup was a thing layer of eye shadow above my eye and some lossy lipstick. I used to think, well I shouldn't bother changing that, I'll only make it completely worse. So boring brown eye shadow and lipstick it was.
Until recently I never realised that people aren't boring any more. Not ever. They either have an extravagant strong black punk style, a girly girl style or a multicoloured - slap everything on style. I particularly hate it when people throw all of their make-up on for the sake of it, it's just not necessery. So I looked into one of the other two styles left. Punk / goth, hmmm, now do I really want to look like death with a load of nose rings on my face? I don't think so, leaving the one style I approve of.
When going for a girly girl look, there are many ways you can go - Doll like, pink and white colours only, the whole hog - delicate and pretty hairstyle give this impression.
I went for just the pink and white colours. This is what I'm talking about because I haven't put too much make up on, and yet I haven't lapped layers and layers on. Also to give it the edgy pretty look, I went for a black eye liner, mascara and a slight shadow below and above the eye line. then I went for the slight gloss on the lips. It is a very easy effect to make. Obviously I still haven't told you where I used the pink and white. The pink was on half of the upper eyelid to the right / left and the white is used to fill the other half. This is again what  I'm trying to say, people are often using more of this kind of technique. I like to call it the 'lushious half spread'. I have only recently been brave enough to try this look but I definitely recommend giving it a go, I left it too long before trying something new. I don't want the same to happen to all of my readers out there...
